     Nearly a million people have been displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Due to the incredible volume of calls from evacuees, concerned family members, members of the public and the media, the Department of Health and Human Services has compiled a list of the most commonly asked questions and their answers.

     Topics covered by this comprehensive list include water quality, information regarding likelihood of contracting communicable diseases from contaminated water, how to purify water without boiling it, how to avoid snake and insect bites, and other important pieces of information critical to dealing with this disaster.
